QDII Securities Investment Custody

Overview

The system of Qualified Domestic Institutional Investors (QDII) is a mechanism under which, with capital account not fully open, domestic financial investment institutions approved by the government are allowed to invest in foreign capital market.

QDII custody is an array of foreign securities market custody services provided by the qualified domestic commercial banks to QDIIs.

Features

ABC offers QDIIs foreign securities market custody services, including custody of QDII assets, funds settlement, accounting, asset valuation, transaction oversight and performance assessment.

ABC is among the first financial institutions licensed by CSRC and PBOC to provide securities investment funds custody services. Initiating banking QDII custody services in 2006 and being certified to SAS70 standards in 2007, ABC has efficient, professional customer service and operation teams. Our current QDII customers range from banks to mutual funds, from insurance companies to other institutional customers.

Procedures

1. QDIIs enter into the QDII product custody agreement with ABC.

2. The customer opens a domestic custody account with ABC upon approval by regulators, and ABC opens a foreign investment securities account and a capital account overseas on behalf of the customer.

3. The customer, ABC and the overseas custody agent determine the investment processes.

4. The customer transfers domestic investment funds into the domestic custody account maintained with ABC.

Tips

The investment program developed by QDII product managers may be adjusted or modified prior to the final approval by CSRC, which may affect investment strategy and other arrangements initially established by the product managers.
